A cabin charter cruise in the Small Cyclades with boarding and disembarkation in Paros. The islands we'll visit (Schinoussa, Amorgos, Keros, Koufonisia, Antiparos and Paros) are some of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean Sea both for the landscapes and the typical villages. We'll spend a few evenings in the Greek taverns to taste typical dishes. There will be also time for night stops in deserted bays to admire the starry skies.
The staff aboard will cook all the meals for a real gourmet sailing vacation.
Boarding in the late afternoon in Paroikia Paros, welcome drink and accommodation in the cabins.
Leaving Paroikia Gulf we'll pass through the strait with shallow bottoms between Paros and Antiparos. We'll then start a long upwind navigation towards Schinoussa.
Schinoussa is a small island, where agricultural activities are still prevailing and tourism is not much developed. The streets are still not paved and the main settlement. Chora, is made up of some houses along the main road. We'll anchor in Livadi Bay and after lunch we will spend the afternoon relaxing. In the late afternoon we'll take a pleasant walk to the village, then have dinner in a small tavern with tables in the open, where we will taste traditional Greek cuisine.
We'll leave Schinoussa to reach Amorgos; a long and quite thrilling navigation awaits.
Amorgos is an arid and wild island, surrounded by a blue sea contrasting the landscape. We'll anchor in the large bay of Katakopula. Lunch in the bay and in the afternoon visit to Hozoviotissa monastery, located in the rocks 300 meters on sea level, on the southern coast of the island. It is recommended to rent a scooter, then it will be necessary to climb the almost 100 steps, but the effort will be awarded by a breath-taking panorama and the warm welcome of the monks that usually offer a glass of rakomelo and sweets made of sugar and fruit.
Ten miles of intense upwind navigation to reach Antikeros, two deserted islets separated by a narrow channel forming an ideal shelter for swimming and having lunch. Upwind navigation to Schinoussa, we'll then spend the night a large bay in the south of the island.
Today little navigation and much relaxation! Short haul to reach Kato Koufonissi, a small island with a dozen houses and long white beaches. We will anchor near the beach in crystal clear water. Afternoon of bathing and relaxation; in the late afternoon transfer to Koufounissi, which is half an hour away. Social evening at Kofounissi.
A beautiful and intense navigation awaits in one of the most windy areas of the Aegean, the channel between Naxos and Paros; the first part of the navigation will be downwind and then upwind. We will arrive in Antiparos in the early afternoon and we will anchor in the large bay of Despotiko. Dinner on the boat.
Visit the archaeological site of Despotiko, where you can walk among the remains of the ancient temple of Apollo, and also enjoy the beautiful view of the Aegean. Then short navigation to reach a small island in the channel between Paros and Antiparos. Lunch in the bay and afternoon of relaxation. In the evening we will reach Paroikia in Paros. Dinner in a tavern.
Breakfast and disembarkation.
