Las Palmas
Capital of the beautiful island of Gran Canaria, in the large archipelago of the Canaries in the Atlantic Ocean. It is part of the Spanish politic territory, even though it is located only 210km out of the African occidental coasts. Las Palmas is a beautiful city, built in the middle of tow bays with wonderful beaches: Playa de Las Canteras and Playa de Las Alcavaneras.
Splendid seafront city, Las Palmas has also a rich cultural and historical patrimony. The most antique district is Vegueta,and, in 1990, it was declared UNESCO Human Heritage. In Vegueta, you can visit the cloister of Sant’Antonio Abate, the Casa Reale, the Vescovado, the Cathedral Santa Ana and the house-museum of Cristoforo Colombo. In direction of the marina, you will find the amazing Park of Santa Catalina, the center of the famous Canarian Carnival.
Las Palmas offers many activities and the city is surrounded by Spanish atmosphere. You will discover typical sports like the “Lucha Canaria” and Lateen Sails, and every week, you will have the possibility to admire Lateen Sail Regattas.
Las Palmas is a modern and cosmopolitan city, with many boutiques in the center town for the lovers of shopping and numerous attractions for nighttime in the lovely bars, restaurants, pub and discotheques of the island.
