Verified The cruise has met our standards

How about a cruise in the Caribbean, perhaps in the amazing British Virgin Islands archipelago? The sailing experience on "Exta Sea", an elegant Leopard 47 catamaran, is absolutely outstanding. Onboard you'll find all the necessary comfort and amenities to enjoy life in one of the most beautiful seas in the world. From snorkelling, to wakeboard, from diving to kayak: your time on Exta Sea will absolutely fly! And the experience is all inclusive: on board you'll also find a special menu that Exta Sea's qualified cook is glad to prepare for you, suiting special dietary requests and food intolerances.

One of the best things about a private crewed yacht, is that you plan the trip from day to day with your captain. He will know all the fun and interesting places, but here are some suggestions to things you might want to see.

What are you waiting for? Come join us on board!

    Arrival Day

So many islands to choose from - which one first? For a brilliant introduction to the Caribbean we suggest going to Norman Island and anchor in The Bight. There are some beautiful caves for snorkeling and the water is blue as blue can be!

Here you will also find the floating bar "William Thornton" where you can soak up some local color!  Norman Island is reputed to be Robert Louis Stevenson's inspiration for his book "Treasure Island". Local legend agrees - apparently treasure was found here in the cave.

  2. Salt & Cooper Island

    Salt & Cooper Island

A short sail up the Sir Francis Drake Channel takes you to Salt Island. Here you can either dive or snorkel the wreck of the Royal Mail Steamship “M/S Rhone”, which sank in a hurricane in 1867. Alternatively, go ashore and see the salt pond from which the island takes its name.

  3. Virgin Gorda

    Virgin Gorda

Sail to the Baths, a unique natural rock formation, consisting of hundreds of smooth boulders, some as big as a house, strewn along the beach on the southern tip of Virgin Gorda. You can explore the many gaps that open into massive rocky grottos filled with seawater.

North Sound off Virgin Gorda offers a huge area of inlets and anchorages. Whether you want to snorkel Eustatia Sound with its sunken canons and great reef fish, or spy on Richard Branson's Necker Island, this is the area for you. Leverick Bay Resort has a great BBQ and local show each Friday. The Sound is also ideal to try out any water sport from kite boarding to Hobbi Cats.

  4. Anegada

    Anegada

Either relax and spend the day in North Sound or sail the 15 miles north to Anegada. Anegada means 'drowned island' and when you see it you'll realize why! The highest point is 28 feet above sea level and it's famous for fresh lobster, iguanas and flamingoes.

Take a taxi ride to Loblolly Bay on the north side and snorkel inside the reef and visit Cow Wreck Beach. Then go back to the anchorage for smoothies and a lobster dinner at the Anegada Reef Hotel or Neptune's Treasure.

    Trellis Bay and Marina Cay

Sail from either North Sound or Anegada to Trellis Bay on Beef Island. If you prefer a more tranquil spot then try Marina Cay across the channel to the north, off Great Camanoe, which features a Pusser’s that is good fun for happy hour.

    Cane Garden Bay/Jost Van Dyke

Weigh anchor and take a short cruise to beautiful Guana Island for spectacular snorkeling and a superb beach at Monkey Point. It's a great spot to picnic as well. Then take an afternoon sail west to either Cane Garden Bay on Tortola's lush north shore, or to the islands of Jost Van Dyke and Little Jost Van Dyke. Both locations have beautiful beaches, hiking and beach bars.

On Jost van Dyke you will find Foxy’s famous place and The Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay is always great fun!! On little JvD there is a natural jacuzzi!

    Soper's Hole/Peter Island

Anchor off Sandy Cay and enjoy a swim to the shore. You can walk around the whole island in five minutes, but snorkeling around is more fun. Then sail west to Soper's Hole, said to be built on the spot where Blackbeard the pirate once lived. For your last night, sail across the channel to Little or Great Harbour, and reach Peter Island.
