Kalymnos

Kalymnos is a Greek island belonging to the Dodecanese and it is considered the capital of the sponge diggers. The 17000 inhabitant  try to make live the fantastic atmosphere of this island to the tourists. In addition to the sponges here you can discover beautiful blue caves and picturesque cloisters. The Byzantine church of Agios Savvas, placed on the top of the bay of Pothia (the capital of the island), is an unmissable stage. The beaches of Kalymnos are not something special but they are ok. The best beach is Platys Gialos, characterized by a dark and hot sand. The water are clean and this island represents a true paradise for the climbing lovers. It boasts more than 2000 calcareus cliffs overlooking the sea.
