Les Sables D’Olonne

Les Sables-d'Olonne is a city in the west part of France. It facing the Atlantic Ocean.

Its landscape is very heterogeneous, here you can find luxuriant forests, green countryside, sand dunes and rocky coasts. Les Sables-d'Olonne owns a National forest, it shows a large number of tree species.

The city also provides a several number of beautiful beaches with a crystal clear sea. Some of the most popular beaches are:  Bassin Dombret, a sandy beach, and Paracou Beach, a wonderful beach close to the dunes and the forest.

The city is rich in museums, some of the most interesting are: the Musée de l'Abbaye Sainte-Croix, devoted to modern and contemporary art, and the Museum of Popular Traditions, it shows the lifestyle in the early twentieth century of the inhabitants.

Les Sables-d'Olonne is a well known city for the Vendée Globe, a yacht race that starts and finishes in Les Sables-d'Olonne.
