Bonifacio

Bonifacio

France

Bonifacio is a commune in the southern of Corsica. The city is located directly on the Mediterranean Sea.

Bonifacio is divided into two parts: the old town, set on a promontory that overlooks the sea. It was built in the 9th-century and it is the most characteristic part of the city. It was designed with tight alleys, as it was a  labyrinth, and medieval houses. The fascination of the town make its a well liked tourist destination in the summer.

On the coastline, Bonifacio offers white sandy beaches and crystal clear sea, on the beaches you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as well as practice water sports, from snorkelling to windsurf.

To schedule your trip on Bonifacio, you should plan a visit to the two genoese towers: Torra di Sant'Amanza and Torra di Sponsaglia and incorporate mountain walks in the beautiful and suggestive peaks of the Alta Rocca.
