Cayo Largo
Cayo Largo is the second largest island of the archipelago de los Canarreos, located south of the island of Cuba. Cayo Largo owes its name to the elongated shape that characterizes it and it was discovered for the first time by Christopher Columbus during his second travel to the New World. It is surrounded for its entire length, by white beaches, wetted by the waters of a turquoise and deep blue colors that give to it the characteristic of being a pearl of the Caribbean. Cayo Largo is considered the perfect place for water sports, especially for diving. This little paradise is reachable from Havana and Varadero with domestic flights, as well as by sea. Today it is home of many animal species, including iguanas, pelicans and turtles.
