Greece

Greece, historically the cradle of democracy, Western philosophy, Olympic Games, Western literature, historiography, mathematical and geometric principles, theatre and Western medicine is considered the birthplace of Western civilization.

Due to its rich artistic, architectural and cultural heritage as well as its landscapes that offer breath-taking views, Greece attracts many visitors every year.

Geographically it is a peninsula with more than 1.500 islands and islets lapped by the Aegean Sea and the Ionian Sea, but its territory is mostly mountainous and hilly. The highest peak in the country is Mount Olympus, an important site for the Hellenic culture. In fact, the ancient Greeks thought that this was the home of the gods.

From the architectural point of view Greece has beautiful ancient remains, such as the beautiful Temple of Apollo, in Didyma and Corinth, the theatre of Ephesus, with a special study on acoustics, the Parthenon, the temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, and the magnificent acropolis that overlooks the capital city, Athens.

As for literature Greece is famous for the Iliad and Odyssey.

Greece also has a strong culinary tradition, the most famous dishes are moussaka, spanakopita, souvlaki and gyros.

Visiting Greece means discovering beautiful untouched areas in  its islands, enjoying a peaceful and remote atmosphere, away from the chaos of the modern cities and being enraptured by the depth of its culture and the beauty of its landscapes.
