Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is an island country surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, located in Central America.

This island has a volcanic origin and is characterized by some mountain ranges; Mount Gimie, with its 950 meters above the sea level, is the highest peak. The weather is warm and humid during the whole year, the precipitations are abundant, but they are mainly downpours or storms, which guarantee the normal sunny hours during the day. The island is also subject to hurricanes and tropical storms, especially during the months of August and October, during which it is not recommended to stay there.

Thanks to its weather conditions, the flora in Saint Lucia is very lush. It is characterized by rainforests, banana plantations and coco palms. Moreover, Saint Lucia has been able to preserve its Caribbean charm and remain a wild island. This is why it appears rural and it still boasts typical fishermen villages with colourful wooden houses.

Saint Lucia is a popular tourist destination. It is suitable for those who love relaxing on amazing white sandy beaches and enjoying the natural wonders; for those who love scuba diving, who will dive into its crystal-clear sea and find a real paradise formed by underwater mountains and caves and studded by multi-coloured and wonderful tropical fish; but also for those who love to discover the culture and the tradition of a place. Worth visiting is the village of Soufrière, that still has some buildings belonging to the colonial period and the picturesque stone church: St. Lucia's Cathedral.

But the more fascinating and representative landscape of Saint Lucia is located to the south, where the two peaks of the twin volcanoes Pitons majestically rise over the coast, offering a breath-taking view. In this part of the island, the coastline is characterized by several little bays and calm beaches, from which the sunset view appears superb.
