Azores

The Azores Islands are situated in the North part of the Atlantic Ocean. This archipelago is made up of nine volcanic islands (Corvo, Flores, Faial, Pico, Sao Jorge, Terceira, Graciosa, Sao Miguel and Santa Maria) and represents an Autonomous Region of Portugal.

Corvo is the smallest island of the Archipelago. The most part of this island in unhabitated, and the only inhabitated part boasts a main street and a square. Volcanic cones, ruins of the houses overlooking the sea, vast greenery landscapes and tuquoise waters.

Flores is the most western island of the Europe. This island is characterized by deep valleys and high peaks, beautiful caves, high and indented cliffs and an high quantity of flowers that give the name at the island. In the central part there are seven lakes that offer a fantastic landscape.

Faial is called Blue Island due to the colours of blue of some houses and of the lines of the road. Many yachts during this Atlanic crossing used to stop to the main harbor of the island, called Horta. Faial is popular for those who love sailing because of the beautiful sunsets, the soft sandy beaches, colorful plantations and volcanos.

The Pico island landscapes is the result of volcanic eruptions and a lush vegetation. This island is a world patrimony and it is popular for the wine and the study about the dolphins. Pico is the perfect island for swimming in the crystal clear blue waters surrounded by a wild nature. The climate of peace and quiet is useful for a relaxing experience.

Sao Jorge belongs to the central group of the Azores. A sightseeing of the Church of Santa Barbara, the village of Manadas and a walk along the sea-shore are all the things that you have to do in Sao Jorge. 

Terceira is an important American Air Force Base and it is the second most populated island of the Azores. Here you can enjoy of the visiting of the alleys of the town, the walls of a castle that was a royal prison, the history and the wide green areas.

Graciosa is popular as the White Island thanks to the colours of some landscapes and buildings such as "Pedras Brancas", "Serra Branca" and "Barro Branco".

Sao Miguel is known as "The Green Island". It is the biggest of the Azores and it is also the island that has the most to offer. Beautiful lakes, sandy beaches, high mountains, green plains and blue ocean.  There you can swimming with dolphins and do a lots of sports such as trekking, fishing, jeep safaris, diving, sailing etc ...

Santa Maria is called the Yellow Island due to the yellow crops and the gold sandy beaches. This island is popular for the delicacies of the traditional cuisine, the colored flowers and wonderful landscapes.
