Mljet

Mljet is an island placed in the southern part of Dalmatia. It is completely covered by forests, maritime pines and a lush Mediterranean vegetation. The coast is rocky and only in the eastern and southern parts of the island there are some sandy beaches such as in Saplunara.

The north-western part of the island belongs to the Mljet National Park, an incredible area full of natural beauties. In this Park there are two salt lakes, made up of wonderful bays covered by a lush vegetation. Cycling and canoa are only two of the many activities that can be done in this fantastic area.

The sea of Mljet is crystal clear, but the temperature of the water is quite cold during all the year. In the majority, swimming is possible only after diving from the cliffs into the water. For that reason in Mljet is useful to wear sandals.

The few shops of the Island are all concentrated to Pomena and Polace. There are many little restaurants managed by families where you can taste fresh fish, directly fished by the owners.
