Giraglia

Giraglia is a Corsican island located on the extreme North point of Capo Corso and it has been declared a protected ecosystem as it is a center for coral collecting.

On top of the island, the tower built in 1500 by Genovese conquerors for preventing attacks still stands. Around this island, sailors fought since 1953 for the Giraglia Rolex Cup, the oldest regatta in Italian sailing, which for years, was also the only regatta of the Mediterranean Sea. The actual race is long 243 nautical miles and it departs from Saint-Tropez with ending in Genova, sailing around Giraglia.

The island of Giraglia, just like the rest of Corsica is the perfect destination for lovers of sea adventures and, indeed, this island is reachable only by sailing boats and catamarans.

The sea around Giraglia offers strong emotions: amazing colors, crystal-clear sea bottom and breathtaking sunsets coloring the whole sea. Giraglia is a corner of paradise appreciated by all the lovers of sailing, nature and peace and relax far away from daily stress.
