Šćedro

The Island of Šćedro belongs to the archipelago of Hvar and it is a protected natural park. The population of this Island is made up of 30 people, but the number depends on the time of year. There are no roads so the best way to visit it, is by bicycle. There are no shops, no electricity and no water, therefore the tourists have to take on the boat all the necessary to survive.

Šćedro represents a true uncontaminated paradise, that provides to visitors an intimate experience enjoying of the crystal clear waters, sweet aromas of nature and fascinating coves. The bays of this island are perfect for safety moorings which allow you to live in a fantastic natural atmosphere.

This island is rarely visited by tourists but who want to stay there, have the opportunity to overnight to the local houses. Thanks to this experience the guests can learn about the local life as fisherman, wine and olive grower. The citizens have the electricity using solar systems. 

The main tourist site is the Dominician Monastery at Mostir, an abandoned cloister dated 1465.
