60 Days sailing the Mediterranean Sea

60 DAYS ON THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA DISCOVERING ULYSSES ROUTE

An incredible 1200 mile vacation on a sailboat, from Sardinia to Troy (now Truva)

We'll cover in two months the same route covered by Ulysses in many years. We'll sail on board of a comfortable catamaran, complete with all amenities and a videotheque for all the places we'll visit.

We'll be sailing together for over 1200 miles, touching almost all original Ulysses' landing places. For geopolitical, weather and marine reasons we have chosen to depart from Sardinia, from Maddalena archipelago (the land of the Laestrygonians), made up of seven main islands: Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi, Budelli and Santa Maria, in a scenery of immense beauty, adorned by the intense colors of one of the best seas in the world.

From Maddalena we'll sail to Ventonene, leaving San Felice Circeo and Circe's cave behind and heading towards the Island of Mermaids, where, according to Homer in the Odyssey, Ulysses had to resist the singing of these mythological creatures.

We'll continue to Amalfi (land of Cyclops), the oldest marine republic in Italy, one of the most evocative places in the world, with its coves, marvellous little beaches, splendid caves and the smell of lemons and olive trees. We'll sail on to the Aeolian islands, (Aeolus' royal palace) with its guardian, Stromboli volcano, which has been active for thousands of years, also known as "The lighthouse of the Mediterranean Sea".

We'll cross Sicily towards legendary Ithaca in Greece, an island which is mainly famous due to the legendary deeds narrated in the Odyssey, but which also boasts an ancient past that can be retraced through archaeological findings on the island.

Passing through Corinthus channel, we'll descend to the Cyclades, following Ulysses' route on reverse: he passed the Cyclades reaching Alexandropoulis and then, pushed by Meltemi, we'll reach Bodrum, Turkey, a few marine miles away from Troy (Ulysses' departure city), nowadays called Truva, the legendary city mentioned by Homer in his epic stories; built on 9 levels and witness to a long and ancient history.

On board you'll be pampered by our hostess while comfortable catamaran sailing will take you through the itinerary and the destinations of the cruise.

Places with historic and archaeological sites will be ports of call for land excursions with professional guides, but we'll also visit colorful places where we'll get an insight of the culture of the locals, tasting local cuisine.

You can choose to cover the entire Ulysses' route all at once and sail with us for 60 days, or shorter routes lasting 30 or 25 days.
