Kalamata

Kalamata is set in the Peloponnese peninsula in southern Greece, it is the capital and the main port of the Messinia regional unit.

The city is characterized by its beautiful landscape that offers sandy beaches, mountains, lush valleys and its archaeological monuments.

Not-to-miss place are the castle of Kalamata, where, from the top, you will enjoy the beautiful view of the town and breath-taking sunsets, the village of Ano Verga, designed with traditional architecture, from here you will enjoy the view of whole Messinian gulf. The Benakeion Archaeological Museum is an importan museum where you will find tools from the Bronze age to the Roman period.

The main tourist beaches are Zaga, a quiet beach, perfect to have relax and Finikounda, the best beach where practicing windsurf.
