The historical couple regatta from Le Havre, France, to Itajai, Brasil. 5,400 miles just for a couple of true sailors who want to run in this classical ocean race which takes place every two years.
20 years of history
After 20 years of existence, the Transat Jacques Vabre still maintains its rythm and its format, it convinced the sailors and exited the public.
The original idea is simple: a great race based on an historical route.
1993: The creation of “La Route du Café”, a single-handed race from Le Havre to Cartagena in Colombia.
1995: The Transat Jacques Vabre becomes a double-handed race.
2001: New destination at Salvador de Bahia in Brazil.
2009: The race stopped in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.
2013: Back to Brazil, with a new port of arrival: Itajaí.
